That was a great start but I still wasn’t satisfied. We decided to move the cutting tables against the wall. When my fabric store sales increased during Covid-19, my niece and I were having a hard time getting to the fabric and having a good place to cut it where the bolt wouldn’t fall on the floor. Here’s a super embarrassing shot from after Christmas when my craft room was trashed. Long story short, this room has been a mess since we moved in last summer. My main cutting tables were in the center of the room, so I’d have to walk around to get fabric or to iron. My son has claimed the attached bathroom as his, so he sometimes had a hard time getting to it from all the boxes and totes on the floor. My craft room is in the master bedroom of the main part of my house (we have a built-on extension, so we sleep in the master bedroom on that side). My biggest issue was that I had too much furniture in here. Here are my thoughts on it so far.įor what it’s worth, my craft room wasn’t terrible to start with. Create Room (formerly ScrapBox) had a great sale for Mother’s Day so I decided to take the plunge. If you never heard of a DreamBox, it’s the cream-of-the-crop armoire for craft storage. I have to admit that the room configuration I landed on does involve the DreamBox covering one of the windows.I dreamt of having a DreamBox of my own for YEARS. Things like yarn, beads, stamps, stencils, stickers, ribbon, washi tapes, buttons, pretty papers, potholder looms, etc. I have a whole side that’s dedicated to things the girls can use at their leisure. UPDATE! I painted the walls peach with my friend Lindsay, and I’M IN LOVE!

The clear plastic bins are Scrapbox brand and come in several sizes. The desk can be a standing desk, or regular sit-down desk. The assembly instructions give you an ‘optimal placement’ for all the shelves and compartments, but it’s completely customizable, so you can move things around to suit your needs! And they’re EASY to adjust!.It’s on wheels which makes it really easy to move around and fold up when not in use.YES, the DreamBox completely folds up into a tidy armoire.I get a lot of questions about this baby over on Instagram Stories, so I wanted to make sure I answer them all here! It’s CRAZY how much more inspired and motivated I feel having an organized space!! SO! Being able to fit all my crafty supplies in ONE STRUCTURE is unfathomable! And amazing! This is what it looked like at all times. My studio in the old house was always SUCH a hot mess, and I knew it was because I just didn’t have a place for everything. I feel so honored to be partnering with Scrapbox for this, and can confidently say that the Dreambox IS AN ACTUAL DREAM. Let’s be honest though, the REAL game-changer for this room was when my DreamBox arrived.
Who knew my little spawn would grow up to actually HELP with my projects?! They even helped out a LOT with stenciling the accent wall. My girls were so helpful with removing wallpaper!! This room started out as a dimly-lit room with blue/gray painted-over grasscloth wallpaper. I feel SO BLESSED and absolutely do not take it for granted. I should start off by saying… I know how lucky I am to have a creative space all to myself. With the help of my friends that watch my Instagram Stories, we figured out THE BEST placement of furniture that still lets in optimal light AND allows the accent wall to have a moment.
After my girls and I painted the Patchwork Accent Wall in there, I really struggled with how to arrange the room. My studio is FINALLY coming together, and I am.
